Skin Needling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a powerful treatment that uses fine stainless-steel needles to create micro punctures which stimulate a wound healing response. By triggering this response, the skin releases growth factors, stimulates collagen and elastin production and repairs damaged cells. The purpose of this treatment is to rejuvenate, plump, heal and strengthen the skin.

The DermaFrac system uses a roller at depths of either 0.25mm or 0.5mm (non-invasive and cannot cause trauma to the skin), along with a vacuum suction to pull the skin into the needles which allow the treatment to be much more pain free in comparison to other needling devices. No bleeding or numbing is required for this treatment. The DermaFrac skin needling system includes either Microdermabrasion or Fruit Enzyme Peel, Skin Needling with custom serum infusion and DermaFrac LED Therapy.

The Derma CIT (collagen induction therapy) Pen has the same objective as DermaFrac in that its purpose is so stimulate collagen, release growth factors and regenerate the cells. The difference is that is uses a pen stamp that contains 12 stainless-steel needles which depths are adjustable throughout the treatment to target specific skin concerns. Derma CIT can reach depths between 0.1– 2.5mm. Mild pin-point bleeding can occur depending on what layer of the skin we need to stimulate. Please note, deeper needles don’t always mean a more effective treatment. Recent studies have shown that shallow needle depths can deliver optimal results without causing unnecessary inflammation, excessive bleeding and extensive downtime. Your skin specialist will adapt needle depths throughout the treatment based off your skin’s condition and the result you’re trying to achieve.

This treatment includes a 20-minute Omnilux LED session to further encourage cellular energy and skin healing.
